I have been keeping and breeding ants, praying mantises, stick insects, and beetles for more than eight years — all in Abu Dhabi, where summer temperatures regularly exceed 45°C and humidity can drop to single digits. That environment exposes product failures that keepers in Europe or North America never encounter. Over the years, I have maintained more than 30 formicarium setups and tested a wide range of enclosures, substrates, feeders, and hydration systems under those conditions. Most insect-keeping content online is written by hobbyists in temperate climates. I offer something different: practical, evidence-based guidance shaped by years of keeping insects alive in one of the most challenging environments on earth. Originally from South Asia and now based in the UAE, my approach is self-directed and research-driven. I study scientific literature, species care documentation, and established best practices — then I test everything against real-world conditions before publishing any recommendation. Both my successes and failures are documented, because realistic expectations matter more than optimistic ones.
